ROME, 14th December.
The Government will withhold further food and pay from D'Annunzio's troops.- The Socialists in Parliament are solidly against the ratification of the Versailles Treaty, while the Catholics, numbering 103, are as solidly in favour of a drastic revision. It is estimated that even if all the othea parties vote for the ratification, the majority will be extremely small. The Italian Chamber of Deputies unanimously urged the Cabinet to support the Inter-Allied Council in the reopening of diplomatic and commercial relations with all the Governments in Russia. This resolution was adopted after an overwhelming rejection of a Socialistic proposal for tho immediate resumption of relations with the Soviet Republic. ROME, 13th December. D'AnnUnzio is turning to new fields of conquest. He says he hopes that Eiume will formally be annexed before Christmas, enabling him to complete hispreparations for a flight from Rome to Tokib, over Europe and Asia.
