"The Diggers," under the direction of Messrs. Hanna and Fama, will make their reappearance at the Grand Opera House on Monday next, -after a most successful tour of the North Maiid. Press reports and public opinion agree on-the fact that the "Digger" entertainments are far above the average, which has been amply proven by the support .of large and enthusiastic audiences at each and every town visited. Special-mention has been made of the excellent bill-of-fare presented by this sprightly and versatile combination of artists, who carry a delighted audience through a y medley of musical numbers, grave and gay—but mostly gay—designed to banish dull care, and raise the drooping spirits, as the "Diggers" did in theatres, barns, tents, and open-air for the benefit of soldiers in the trenches of the; fighting lines in France and Belgium. An entirely new programme is promised for tho opening performance on Monday next. The bos plan opens at the Bristol to-mor-row morning at 9 o'clock.

The entertainment given last night at St, Mark's Schoolroom by the children of the Church School was well patronised, and the pretty scenes of "Maori Land" and "Flower Land" were much admired. Recitations, songs, and dances were given, when all acquitted - themselves well, showing both talent and careful training, The performance was given in aid of a fund to purchase lantern slides for the teaching of geography and nature study,
