CRICKET
MEETING OF EXECUTIVE,
The weekly, meeting of the Wellington, Cricket Association was hold last evening. Mr. C. G. Wilson presided, and the following wore also present:—Messrs, W. G. Hughes, R. S. Johnston, H. E. Burton, J. Fanning, M. J. Crombie, and V. B. Willis.. '.-"■"
Tho Manawatu Cricket Association notified that it could not send a representative team to moot Wellington, as suggested, on Christmas, and Boxing Days, but stated that it might bo possible to send a team to Wellington on the Ist and 2nd January.
.A. letter from tho Hawkeß Bay Association stated that that body could not sco its way clear to arrange for a representative match in Wellington on tho lsd and 2nd January, but suggested that tho fixture should be played on tho 6th and 7th January. After a little discussion, it waa deemed inadvisablo to play this proposed gamo, but to ask Hawkes Bay for a match later in the season.
Marist Old Boys' Club had been communicated with, drawing attention to the faot that F. Bowles, ono of its third-grade membors, should bo placed in a higher grade, A lottor waa received last evening from Marist Old Boys, in whioh-eimi-. lar cases in other clubs were mentioned.' Tho special circumstances under which Bowles had been playing wore afeo brought undrjr tho notice of the meeting. Aftor a good deal of discussion it was resolved to inform Marist that Bowles had been classed a junior-grade player. - A letter from tho Kilbirnie Junior Team was received protesting against;tha action of Wellington College IL team in refusing to allow a Kilbirnie player to bat in the second innings, it being alleged that ho wt_ under the influence of liquor when tho two teams met on Saturday last.
