ACCIDENT AT PETONE

A man named R. P. Murphy met with a severe accident at the Gear Meat Co.'s slaughter-house, Petone, this morning. While he wa-s in the act of slaughtering a sheep, his knife passed between the bones and the neck-joint, decapitating the animal and penetrating the man's left leg over the shin, causing a cut about "eight inches long.. Mr. Parrant rendered first aid, and the sufferer was removed to his home in Britannia-street, where he received attention from Dr, Harding.
