SUGAR SHORTAGE.

Questions bearing upon an alleged' shortage of sugar in the Auckland district were asked by Mr. J. H. Young (Waikato) in tlie House of Representatives yesterday. The' Prime Minister replied that he had received no communication respecting the matter, but he would have it referred id the Board of Trade. Hs noticed that a few days ago a cargo of sugar was sent away from Auckland, as the watersiders would not work the vessel because it had a nonunion crew. That may have something to do with the shortage. Mr. Poole : That would be raw sugar, Mr. Massey,: Yes, it probably would be. Mr. Young said the company 'denied. that ite stocks -were short.
