"SLEEPING OUT."
Members of the House of Representatives find work and recreation in Parliament Buildings. Sometimes they sleep there also; but not too comfortably. Yesterday Mrj J. Vigor Brown asked the Prime Minister if it was the intention of the Government in making alterations to the buildings, to1 provide 12,0r 15 rooms, as had been proposed by the previous Government, which members might rent and furnish as sleeping apartments. He.pointed out that it was sometimes difficult for members to obtain accommodation outside.
Mr. Massey replied that on the plans fit the buildings that were handed- to the Government there was no provision for this. ■
The Prime Minister did not say whether he would entertain Mr. Brown's suggestion. Probably he tthinks it desirable that members should "sleep out"; and not be encouraged to spend, more time in the House than is necessary for the transaction of business.
