STRUGGLE WITH A GUARD
SOLDIER SHOT DEAD.
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.-^-COP*RIOHT.> MELBOURNE, 27th April. While an armed guard was conveying eight military prisoners to a train for Sydney the prisoners attacked their guards. A desperate struggle followed, and one man, Private J. Emmett, on refusing to desist, was shot dead by the
guard. (Received April 28, 10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. Corporal Poulson has been arrested, and charged with having murdered Private Emmett.
