SETTLEMENT,

Considerable interest. centres in the Drivers' dispute gust now. It is reported that the men themselves are becoming very restive because no settlement has been arrived at so far. It is understood that since the last conference with employers the representatives of tho Transport Workers Advisory Board have placed the position before the Acting-Minister for Labour (Hon, W. H. Herries). To-day the Conciliation ' Commissioner for the Wellington District (Mr. W Newton) took a hand in the dispute. Mr. Newton, when seen by a Post reporter, stated that as yet there was nothing to report as to the progress of the negotiations.
