A record in the matter of school attendance has been put up by four sisters—members of the Phunbridge family, of Tai Tapu, Canterbury. Irene has attended school for six years, Doris for seven years, and Madeline and Florrie for eight years (the last-named has now concluded her schooling), and none of the four has ever missed a roll-call in an aggregate of 29 years. Trie attendance at this school has always been good, a fact of which the district 'has been proud. This year, out of a total roll of about 80, 24 scholars secured Tegular attendance certificates, 17 not having missed a roll-call.
