NEW .YORK, 25ttl December.
Mr D. Lawrence, Paris correspondent of the N-ew York -Everting l*&st, who has been notably close 4o ' the President, cables :—"My- prediction- is that the American Peace Delegation will be inclined to disfavour the distribution of the strrrendered German fleet after a manner which will increase Britain's naval strength disproportionately. It may be suggested as a compromise that tho German fleet should be dismantled, but not sunk. A member of tho American delegation, has explained informally that there is not the slightest objection to England possessing a large navy, becausa there is no fear that Britain will use her sea-power unjustly, but it is believed that all the nations should_ give a. guarantee that their^ sea-power will be used justly during a wax."
