THE WEATHER OUTLOOK

A westerly storm area, which passed in the South on Saturday accounted for high westerly winds and boisterous conditions, especially in and south of Cook Strait. Bain fell in many parts, and wa6 very heavy in Westland. Yesterday conditions , moderated, and southerly winds have since predominated, with increasing attaospheric pressure everywhere.

The indications this morning were for moderate to strong southerly winds, decreasing and veering to increasing northerlies shortly. The weather is likely to be changeable, with fair 'to cloudy conditions predominating, but probably only for a. short period, for another de : prcssion is apparently developing to tho westward.
