(IT TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.)
TIMARU, 22nd December
As the evening train from Oaraaru. comprising 46 trucks and two passenger cars, entered the station yard last night iv a gale of wind and rain, a head-on collision occurred with an engine just detached from the Aishburton train, and going to the shed. Both engines were twisted together., and had to be cut apart. Nine trucks, loaded with wool, were derailed and damaged and the wool thrown in a/ll directions. Most of to-day was spent clearing up the wreckage. By almost a miracle-the engine-men were practically unhurt and the passengers only shaken. An- inquiry will be held. l
