SITUATION NOT CLEAR
ROUT OP THE BOLSHEVIKS. (ADS. AND N.Z. CABLE ASSN. AND RF.OTEK.) LONDON, Bth December. The situation in Berlin is not clear, but there are apparently two movements, firstly, the Spartacusians' attempt to/seize power, and, secondly, the movement by the soldiers against the Socialist extremists. 'Advices'from Zurich state that the Bolshevik coup, d'etat in Berlin, plfmned by Liobknecht and the Spartacus group, failed pitifully. The i Government's troops used their weapons, , especially their machine-guns, ruthlessly. Liebknecht's forces, who were also armed with machine-guns and bombs, were utterly routed and fled in disorder, abandoning a greitfc number of killed and •wounded. The losses of the Government troops were slight. Liebknochf stated that he intended to rally his forces, so possibly fighting will ba'ieeumed.
