THE OCCUPYING ARMIES
BIG DEMAND FOR MAINTENANCE. LONDON, sth December. A British official report states : "Yesterday we resumed the march towards the Rhine, and reached a line' from Kronenburg, Schl<!den, to Duren." AMSTERDAM, 4th December. The French armistice delegate at Spa demanded ninety-eight million marks for the first month for maintenance of the Anglo-French armies in occupation.
