CELEBRATIONS AT PETONE
In Petone the occasion was celebrated by a public open-air gathering at the Municipal Chambers at noon.' The whole of the 6chool children, who had preyi-. ously.been addressed by their headmasters, assembled together, and. were addressed, along with the citizens, by the Mayor-(Mr. J. W. M'Ewan), and the Rev A. B. Todd, who each pointed out the great possibilities for a final peace which lay in the victory. ■•■ '. -. '
