VANCOUVER, 16th August.
A message from an American Pacific port states that M. Metin, an ex-French Minister, head of the special mission now en route to Australia, has died of apoplexy.
[M. Albert Metin was head of a special mission which, at the cordial invitation of the Australian Government, the Government, of France is sending to Australia. He was a former French Minister for Labour, and at the time of his death was a member of the Chamber of Deputies. Some years ago he visited Australia to study social legislation. Genera] Pau is a member of the Commission.]
