LONDON, 15th August. Sir Douglas Haig reports: The Canadians have captured Damery and Parvillers (north-west of Eoye). We have also advanced south-east of Proyart, taking prisoners in both operations. Our patrols north of Albert were all day long in contact with the enemy. There has been local fighting at a number of points. Our patrols were also active at the Vieux Berquin sector. We have progressed south-east of the village, taking prisoners. We successfully raided north-west of Locon, inflicting casualties. There is hostile artillery firing on the Kemmel-Ypres front. (Received August 17, 8.30 a.m.) , ■ LONDON, 16th August. Sir Douglas Haig reports: We advanced our line Blightly during the night north-east of Morlancourt. We repulsed an attack on a post in this vicinity, after sharp fighting. There haß been local fighting on the northeastern outskirts of Thiepval Wood. Our patrols there crossed to the left bank of the Ancre. Our patrols further north made progress between Beaucourt sur Angre and Puisieux. There is increased hostile artillerying south of the Somme, and between La Bassee Canal and Ypres.
