2nd Lieutenant F. G. Beechey, reported killed in action, was the son of Mr. '' J. M. Beechey, headmaster of Clareville tSchool,, Wairarapa.. Lieutenant Beechey, before enlisting, was assistant master at Wellington South School, and one of the leading members of the' Victoria College cricket team. ■
