FAMINE IN MONTENEGRO

An intense famine, with terrible mortality is officially, reported from Montenegro. People there are feeding on herbs, roots, and the bark of trees. Numerous bands of insurgents continue to harass the Austrians. , To suppress brigandage the Austrians employ as mercenaries half-savago Albanians, who track down insurgents and perpetrate inconceivably terrible cruelties.
