DEATH OF MR. ORMOND COOPER.
The death occurred in the Thorndon Private Hospital this afternoon of Mr. Ormond C. Cooper, managing director of the stock department of the Wairarapa Fanners' Co-operative Association at Masterton, and one of the most popular residents of that district, a son of the lato Mr. G. S. Cooper, Under-Secretary of the Colonial Secretary's (now the Internal Affairs) Department, and young«r brother of Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, S.M., Chairman of the First Wellington Military Service Board. The deceased succumbed .to injuries received in a street accident on Wednesday night last. A motor-car in which he was returning from, the .races, while going along Moles-worth-street, skidded and became jammed between a tramcar and a two-horse lorry. The automobile was partially wrecked and Mr. Cooper was seriously injured about the ribs, back, and chest., The late Mr. Cooper, who was a native of Wellington, and educated at Wanganui College, was of a most genial disposition. He was fond of sport of all kinds, and in his younger days was a prominent footballer.
