On Monday night the people of Wellington will be given an opportunity of expressing their appreciation of the sterling work done by France in the great ..war. Above is the text of a motion that will be moved by the Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke, C.M.G.), and seconded by tho Hon. Sir James Allen, X.C.8., Acting-Prime Minister. The speakers in support of the motion will be Messrs. J. P. Firth, John Hutcheßon, and Captain Barclay. At a meeting of the executive committee of New Zealand's Tribute to Franco Fund, held to-day, it -was decided to adhere strictly to the programme. The speeches will be brief, and each speaker is asked to abide strictly by the spirit of the motion. Before the meeting commences Mr. Bernard F. Pago will play selections on the grand organ, and at the conclusion of the. speeches Mr. Frank Charlton will sing "The Marseillaise." It is expected that there will bo a big gathering at tho Town Hal], and that the enthusiasm will ensure that the motion will V; carried by acclamation. Returned, soldiers are invited to occupy seats which will be reserved for them in front of the body of the hall.'
