SPEEDY REPORTING.
The problem of accurately reporting the sales conventions of large American institutions has been satisfactorily solved by the use of the stenotype. With perfect ease and comfort an operator takes a verbatim report of each speaker; these in turn are passed out to a staff of typists, and, since the theory of stenotypy is universal, any typist can transcribe the notes of another operator. In this way, while each address is being recorded, other operators are kept busy typing the notes already passed out. A few moments aftor the convention is finished a complete type-written record of the proceedings is handed over. The Stenotype is the wonderful little machine for which Gilby's College, Ltd., are the sole territorial agents. Pupils are trained by them in ■ operating the machine, which has justly earned the reputation of being "the fastest writing machine in the world." By operating the machine at only half the rate at which the average typiste operates here machine, a stenotypist is able to record dictation at 180 words a minute;—twice as fast as the average shorthand .writer takes dictation.
Terms and- all particulars are gladly given to those telephoning or writing to Gilby's College, Winder's Building?,, corner Manners-street and Cuba-street. The telephone- number is 2502.—Advt.
