THE ALLIED OBJECTIVES
AN ADVANCE OF FIFTEEN MILES

The newspapers draw attention to the advance in Albania, and .point out that the immediate aim is to clear out the enemy from the mountainous regions south of the Semeni River and its tributary, the Devoli. The Figaro, referring to the final aims, says : —' The occupation of Albania and an advance north of Lake Ochrida -will place the Bulgarian Army in a dangerous position." (AUSTRALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.) WASHINGTON, 11th July. Official advices from Rome state that the Italians have advanced fifteen miles towards Berat, on. a front of fifty miles. (AT7SIBALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION AND REUTER.) (Received July 13, 10 a.m.) LONDON, 12th July. A French communique states : South of Devoli, we are continuing our success. We seized the whole of the Kosnitza Ridge, and occupied all the villages in the Temorica Valley. On the left the Italians captured the Cafaq- ; leamana Heights. The Austrians, who suffered heavy losses, are retreating, pillaging, and burning their depots. .ik> NDO N, A.wireless Austrian official report states: We have organised a new defensive line in Albania.
