In common wjth many other old-timers who were supposed to have finished roaming the seas, the thrag-masted schooner Wafmana has been purchasea for the timber trade between Tasmania and Australia (reports an exchange). The Waimana, which was built at Whangaroain 1899, was originally a- twin-screw steame- of 117 tons. Some years ago she was acquired by a firm in Western Australia, and converted into a barge. As such, she was engaged between Fremantlo and Perth. To meet theever increasing timber business, the Waimßn» was sold to Captain E. Taylor, who, after an inspection, decided to have her converted into a three-masted schooner
