V.M.C.A. ACTIVITIES
An enjoyable social evening took place at the V.M.C.A. Rooms, Willis-street, on Saturday. Mr. W. Greig (Cha.iraia.n of tho Social Committee) was in the chair, ■and over 70 members, soldiers, and ladyfriends were present. Tho programme consisted of music ajid games. Items were contributed by the Red Trianglers, Misses Doris Smith, Churchill, Eva. Smith, and Cooney, and Messrs. J. H. Jones and G. Edmondstono. The supper was tastefully served by the V.M.C.A. Ladies' Auxiliary under Mrs. Fossette. Mr. Elliott (V.M.C.A. Field Secretary) spoke at tho residents' and soldiers' family worship on Sunday morning. _ Mr. Robert Powell (G'hiaa, Inland Mission) gave an address at tho men's. meeting. Thirtyfive visitors and soldiers were entertained at the strangers' tea. Sixty-nine soldiers were entertained at the after church supper and song service. At the main V.M.C.A. in Willis-street 170 beds and 265 meals wero served to soldiers over the week-end.
