FEARS REGARDING JAPANESE ACTION

~ , ■ LONDON, 21st March. Mr. A. Henderson, in a speech in London, said it would be a complete ( denial of the international policy of Labour to accept concessions from the Central Powers in the West, on condition that they. are left in undisturbed possession of their conquests in the East. Such a diplomatic compromise mU6t be regarded as a betrayal of the cause for which international democracy stood. Labour had ranged itself by the,side of the Russian'people in their resistance to an iniquitous partition which a shameful militarist peace; imposed; He was convinced that Japanese intervention would seriously comprdmise the Allies unless it was made clear, first: That the Russian people approved; second: that all the Allies, including the United States and China, sanctioned the intervention; thirdi: that Japan gave an unequivocal pledge of disinterestedness, and promised to withdraw her troops immediately the danger of German occupation had passed; .
