DR. MORRISON
CIVIC RECEPTION.
Dr. G. E. Morrison, Political Adviser to the Chinese Government, is about to visit Wellington, and is expected to arrive to morrow. In the event of his arrival to-morrow, the Mayor (Mr J. P. Luke, C.M.G.) will tender him a civic reception in the Council Chamber of the Town Hall at 11 a.m. on Monday. Dr. Morrison was for 17 years the London Times correspondent in the Far East, and some five years ago was appointed to the important position he at present holds, in which he has taken a great part, in shaping the political life of the country, and has formed an important connecting link with the British Empire. As Dr. Morrison is a native of Australia, there will probably be many people here who will be glad of the opportunity of renewing acquaintance with him.
On Tuesday, at midday, Dr. Morrison will be the guest of the New Zealand Club at lunch, and later will be tendered a reception at the Grand Hotel by the journalists of Wellington.
