SALE OF YEARLINGS
(BI TELE6RAPH.—PEESS ASSOCUTJOH.) OHRISTCHURCH, Bti November. At the yearling Bales to-day, the top price obtained -was 1025 guineas for a bay colt by Martian—Grand Opera the property of Mr. J. F. Buchanan, of Kin- I loch. The purchaser was Mr. H. M. Campbell, of Hawkes Bay. A bay filly by Martian—Loveland also went to Mr. H. M. Campbell for 675 guineas, and a brown colt by Martian—lntelligence was sold to Messrs. V. and E. Riddiford, of Wellington, for 775 gxiineas. All the Martians came from Mt. Buchanan's stud. Messrs. V. and E. Riddiford purchased a bay colt by Solferino—Rosalie for 500 guineas, and a bay filly by Rona. RosaSpring Briar was knocked down to Mr. A. J. Toxward for 600 guineas.
