GARDEN BEAUTIFYING SOCIETY

The second of the "series of monthly, shows in connection with the Wadestown. Cottage Garden and Beautifying Society was held laet evening; in , St. Luke's Schoolroom, when a creditable display of flowers was exhibited. The attendance was very satisfactory considering the wild night. The winnine display, a beautrful vase of narcissus aniT ranunculus, wae the exhibition o£ Mr. A. Sirett, Cecil-Toad. Among the other fine displays were three vases of assorted flowers by Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Lankshear, and Mrs.-Grace-NeiE. A paper on. Manures, their treatment and their effect on'the soil was read by Mr. Charles Dormer, and was much, appreciated. : The society has decided to offer a silver flower bowl for competition at, the show to be held in December and March next, the exhibitor who gains the highest number of points far the two shows to hold the bowl for the season. The society has also received a number of' trophies donated; for specfal exhibits, and certificates of merit will also b© given, so that exhibitors will have a chance of winning three prizes. -
