MURITAI TENNIS CLUB

Since the_ outbreak of the wir the . Muritai Tennis Club has languished considerably, and an effort is now being- made by the residents of Eastbourne to revive it. Of its original male members of about 60, some 57 have gone to the war, and great difficulty has been met with in. raising sufficient moncy_ to pay standing charges. A strong committee has now boon set up with Mr. Blackey as secretary and Mr. R. Lush as treasurer, and a big effort is to be made to secure members. The committee hopes <that all those who have used the courts for tho last two years (free of charge) will forward their names as members for the ensuing season to the secretary. An effort is also being made to collect £100 for the purpose of paying off the mortgage, so that when tho original members return from the war the club will bo entirely free from debt. Working boos are now busy putting the courts' in repair, and it is liopcd to have everything in playing order within the next fow weeks.
