The annual report of the Wellington Provincial Industrial .Association makes refei'ence to the admirable work of the Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke, C.M.G.) and Mrs. Luke. The association speaks thus of the City's Mayor:—"We consider that it is a matter for the city's congratulation that Mr. J, P. Luke, G.M.G., was returned as Mayor unopposed. The good work performed by Mr. Luke, and the- ■ noblo work of Mrs. Luke..must assured-j ly be acknowledged by all. We heartily congratulate his Worship the Mayor upon the honour conferred upon him by our gracious Majesty the King. It is an 'honour well deserved." Mr. Gerald Andereon's profusely illustrated lecture, "New. Zealanders at War on Seven Fronts," will be given under distinguished patronage at the Town Hall Concert Chamber on Tuesday,- 25th July. Last week's tour in the Wairarapa i district provoked much enthusiasm. Mr. Anderson is widely reported as a gifted lecturer. He is a returned soldier, and tho father of three sons at the front. The box plan is now open at The Bristol; Onefourtl) of the proceeds of the entertainment will be devoted. to the Mayor's Patriotio Fund.
