BRAVERY AT THE FRONT

OAMAIIU,- This Day.
The Governor-General (the Earl of Liverpool) paid a brief visit to-day, and presented awards made to Oamaru soldiers for bravery at the front. There was a good turn-out- of Territorials, and a big gathering of the jmblic. All the recipients being dead, there was no outburst of enthusiasm. The presentations to next-of-kin were as follows:—Sergt. Donald Forrester Brown, Victoria Cross, to Mr. Robert Brown, father; Lieut. Edward H. Kibblewhite, Military Cross, to Mrs. Kibblewhvte, wife; Pt«. Alexander Kennedy, Rusttian Order of St, George, to Mr, D. ICeuncdy, father.
