Sir Douglas Haig reports : As the result of our attack jesterday we advanced our line, after heavy fighting, on a front of over two thousand yards, astride the St. Jnlien-Poelcapelle road, and established ourselves in further portions of the German third line system. The enemy twice, without result, attacked 'Inverness Copse.
