The wages paid to prison warders were criticised by Mr. P. C. Webb in Parliament last night. Mr. Webb stated that warders only received a paltry wage for the 70 hours a week they worked. He advocated that an enquiry should be set up to make full investigations and present full reports on the whole system. " The Prisons Department is sweating the very life's blood out of tJhe officers of the Department," said Mr. Webb.
