(ADS. AKD N.Z. CABLE ASSN. AND RBCTER.)

LONDON, 23rd August.

An official report from Mesopotamia jStatos! "We have captured Shahraban, 'on the left bank of the Diala, and ■forced the enemy to retreat to the Hamrin Hills." . • ;

The Wai 1 Office announces that the Arabs f in extensive operations, have destroyed part of the railway northward of Medina, and captured Turkish, poste. On more than one occasion they overcame superior forces. They killed seven hundred and took seven hundred prisoners in the Maan district alone, and captured four guns. It is evident that the King of the Hedjaz has definitely associated himself with tihe Allied aims, which is bound to embarrass our enemies. The Arab movement is apparently gaining support-, and spreading eastward.
