WAR LECTURE
At the Y.W.C.A. Rooms on Saturday evening, Mrs. Corliss spoke to an interested gathering of the wonrante sphere of labour in the present war. She had an. inexhaustive collection of personal narratives of experiences ia England and «lsewhere, and her pictures of women's work were very vivid and informative. Miis. Corliss made an appeal for further activities on the part of young New Zealand women, stressing particularly the part they could play in going into the country and lending a hand in -assisting the wives of farzners who have gone to the front to manage the farms. Miss Birch, general secretary of the J.W.0.A., was in the chair, and at the concluaion of the lecture she moved, a hearty vote of thanks to Mrs. Corliss for her able address. This was carried. A collection in aid of Red Cross Funds? was made.
