PUSHING TOWARDS LEMBERG

RUSSIANS MOVING BY FORCED MARCHES

ENEMY'S ENORMOUS LOSSES

(Vt TELEQBAFH.—UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COfIRIfIMT.)

(ATJETBALIAN-NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.)

LONDON, 13th July.

The Morning Post's Petrograd correspondent says that General Korniloff'a cavalry continue to push on with irresistible dash, and the infantry ia moving by forced marshes towards Lemberg. The remnants of the enemy who opposed Korniloff are fleeing panic-stricken. The opportunity ia ideal for th» use of cavalry, in which Bussia is particularly strong. The Austrian Corps at Bjzezany was also beaten to rags, and the Temnants have been entirely withdrawn. German divisions , from other parts hastily replaced them, and are temporarily holding the Russian attack in thii sector. The losses were enormous; between Ist and 7th July, in the Brzezany sector, 30,000 Germans were killed or wounded, apart from 18,000 taken prisoner. Korniloff's sweeping successes to the south have already turned the Brzezany defences. The Germans have been reduced to attacking in solid formation, hence the heavy losses.
