ROAD IMPROVEMENTS
NEW CITY WOEKS.
On th(S feconimeiidatloli of the Finance Committee, the City Council last night decided to place various sums upon the estimates for works to be undertaken during the cufreiit yfcar. These irichided : £100 for road improvements in Al'Fa-r----iane-street; £100 for feplaiitiilg bush dsatroyed by fire at' Karori Waterworks RefcerVe, aiid 8400 for the cons'triictidfi. of a track for the residents of.Buckitig-ha-m-street, Melrose. In the last-named case the cotincil decided fiftiM? to- take over the street when-the work is finished, provided the council's officers are sa.tisfield as to the' legal position.
