Last evening, the Wellington' Aifeiteur Operatic ; Society lield its annual meeting in the society's room. The chair was decupled by Mr. A. W\ Newton-. There w*S a large n-umbei- of members present. The following were elected as 6'fflceTs for the present season: President, Hon. A., L. Jierdman; vicepresidents, Messrs. A. W Newton, W. H. Alabk, P, Levi; T. M. Wilford, M.P., and V. R. Meredith'; committee, Messrs. Aj. Sha;w, H. Plimmer, W. Smith, .."Misses Isaacs and SaunderS, Mesdames .Han-naH and Quirke, Messrs'. H. D. Bridge, D. A. Kenny, V. G. Rhina,- .0.. H: Greed,- tad-. DF. Isaac's (the last-five elected as a graceful act to former committeemen now - tinder arms); musical director, .Mr. Bernard F. Page; hofi. treasurer; Mr. W. Fraser;, hon.. auditors, Messrs. E. W. Huiit and C. R. Menzies; hon. secretary, Mi\ 15: B. Vance. The question of producing an opera this year was referred to the new committee for consideration.
