CHARGE OF RECEIVING DISMISSED
An elderly, man, named Thomas Emeriy, for whom Mr. H. F. O'Leary appeared, was charged in the Magistrate's Court today that between 15th February and 20th April- he* Teceived-'nietal «ash weights, ..valued at £3,,65, .well., knowing, them to have been stolen. Ho was further charged .with'carrying on Business'as'a'secondhand dealer without ajicqnse. .Defendant pleaded not" guilty to both charges.
■'■■ 'The evidence strongly -suggested that Emeny acted witli honest intentions, and ;did;,not;know?that the articles .had :beeh stolen by the boys concerned. Regarding the other charge," it was shown that the defendant did not sell on the premises, and in these : circumstances Mr: O'Leary contended that his client could not bo classed ;as ;a'secondhaiid. deaUei;.'
