ThY New Zealand Farmers' Co-opera-tive Distributing Company reports'that the potato market is very firm, and good business is being done. There is no ..change in wheat;.beyond, the additional in* the 'fixed' Government price. Maize is in good demand, and prices continue firm. Recent quotations for oats are being maintained, and fair business is. • doing. Pollard *is ■stillscarce, and a certain amount of business is now being done with the Australian market. Bran; is offering, freely. The supply of eggs has improved, and the price remains firm^ Poultry is in short supply, and there is keen demand for prime dressed pork, and larger supplies can* be dealt.with. •• -; ■-. • -*
■Choice lines of cabbages '■ and cauliflowers, are now. in.better supply, and prices are lower. Green peas and Frenoh-beans are scaroe,-and realise high' prices. Lettuce is in good • demand. There is fair enquiry for Swedes at satisfactory rates. Pumpkins and marrows are plentiful. Carrots and parsnips are in fair supply, and good prices are being realised. Beetroot, spring onions, leeks, and'celery are in good demand. There is somewhat of a glut of apples at the present time, owing no doubt to the lack of shipping facilities. Large supplies have reached the market during tho week, and prices, show a considerable decline. Tomatoes are in fair supply, and meet with excellent demand at.. high rates.:,,; Choice dessert and ..'cooking "pears meet; reJidylLsale at satisfactory -prices; Grapes-are selling well, and there is ■ a good demand for quinces. , ,
