There was a large attendance on Sat.nrday evening at the New Zealand Toy Dog Club's Show in the Skating Eink, and many of the short canines with long names were much admired. The principal officials were: Show manager, Mr. J. W. Clayton; chief ring steward, Mr. J. T. E. Harrap; secretary, Mr. Barlow Wills. The judges were: Mr. W. H. Hope (Pomeranians and Pekingese) and Mr. Ivan M. Levy (all other breeds). The principal awards were !E5-follow ':— Australian Terriers (blue and tan). — Open dogs: W Simmonds's The Sundowner. Yorkshire JTcrriers. —Open bitches : Mrs. Allan's Lady Carrington, 1. Toy Spaniels.—Mrs. J. Berryman's (King Charles) Oxford Princess, 1. Chihuahuas.—Mr. 'p. W. ' J. Any Other Variety.—Mrs. Fred Poynton's (Maltese) Lord Dodo, 1. Pomeranians.—The principal prizewinners were Mrs. George. Lewis's Offley Sabte Mite, A. Sherbrook's Mighty Atom and Oriental Orange Mite. Mrs. Mitchell's Oriental Joy, Mrs. Wearu's Oriental Zoe, and Mrs. B. M. Flipp's localbred _ -Kilbirnie Sable King. The lastmentioned won three first prizes, second in New Zealand-bred, a special, and the rose bowl special challenge trophy. Mrs. R. C. Renner showed for "exhibition only a 4lb Eonieranian orange sable dog, Shamrock's' Sa,ble Atom (imp.), a pure orange 3£lb bitch, Orange Tiny Duchess. _ A. Sherbrooke also benched for. exhibition only a puro orange ten months old 2lb Pomeranian dog, Oriental Orange Mite, bred by.Mrs. Renner. : Pekingese.—Mrs. J. J. Addison's Toto of Eibbleisdale, Chinty of Ribblesdale, and Pipaku of Ribblesdale were awarded ,the prizes in the open classes. The chief special trophies were awarded as follow: Best Australian terrier dog or bitch, W. Simmonds's The Sundowner; best Sydney Silky, W. H. Petera's Silver Beauty: best French poodle, J. B. Lindsay's Wee M'Gregor; best black pug, Mrs." Dusgan's Ngaei-e; best- fawn pug, J. L.
