RIFLE SHOOTING

KARORI CLUB'S COMPETITION

The ■weather conditions experienced by the Karori Rifle Club on Saturday afternoon- for the final match of its second competition series were decidedly unfavourable. The match (fourteen shots at 600 yds) was fired in a thick driving rain, which almost obscured the targets. .' At times it was quite impossible to see the targets over the rifle sights. The scores registered by- Riflemen Croxton (61) and Tinney (58), along with those o£ the two handicap men (Riflemen Hooper and Mowah), .wore' very creditable under the circumstances.. Rifleman Hooper fired steadily throughout the series into first place, securing his win by one point. The following were the highest scores for the afternoon :— ■/ ' Score. Hp. Tl. Rflmn. R. H.
