Arrangements made by the, Board of Trads with regard to the retail price of meat are reported to be working satisfactorily. ;ln Auckland' State butcher shops are selling meat from Government stores, and facilities have been extended to private retailers to. obtain supplies. From the same source provided they do not exceed a fixed seaieof: charges to | the .public. In Mastertori all the butchers, save one are drawing their supplies from the Waingawa • works, and "in Napier, Hastings, and Palmerston . North a. schedule of prices has been fixed by arrangement. On its return from Christchurch towards the end of this weeV the board will visit Wanganui to institute an' enquiry regarding meat prices in that town.. If time permits other towns in the Taranaki district will also toe visited.
