SALE OF POLAR SOUVENIRS

One of the most, remarkable auction sales that have ever taken place in Wellington will be held at 2 o'clock next Friday afternoon in the Harbour Board's B Shed, when George Thomas and , Co. will offer for sale a- splendid collection of South Polo souvenirs from the Aurora, which recently returned from the Far South. The whole of ffie proceeds will go to help defray the very heavy expenses of Sir Ernest Shacldeton's expedition. Tlie souvenirs include , Burbery suits, alpenstocks, dog and man harness, penguin, and reindeer skins, sledges, ski boots, tents, blankets, and also six Canadian sledge pup dogs.
