WELLINGTON UNION'S DECISION.

ROUND-TABLE CONFERENCE

WANTED,

A meeting of the Wellington Waterside Workers' Union, held last night, was attended by about 1400 members. Mr. L. Glover, vice-president, occupied the chair.

The following motions were carried

" That this meeting of Wellington waterside workers emphatically denies the statement made by the employers that the men impeded or refused to work on troopships or ships carrying produce tommandeered by the Imperial authorities, nor is it their intention to do so."

"That this meeting of Wellington waterside workers endorses the action of their delegates in refusing to submit the dispute to the Arbitration Court, and will loyally abide by that decision, and, furthermore, should any members be summoned by, the Court as assessors, they shall state that they are 'not authorised to act on behalf of the union, and that the federation be instructed that the only possible manner in which an agreement can be arrived at satisfactorily to the waterside, workers is by a round-table conference."
