HUTT RIVER BOARD

The monthly meeting of the Hutt River Board was held last evening. Mr H Baldwin occupied the chair. There were also present Messrs. Knight,' Bowers, Kennedy, and Welch. The tender of Messrs. Peters and Sons.for carting ironbark piles was accepted. The balance-sheet was received from the Government Auditor, having been passed __. correct, with the exception of a tag concerning a' merely technical point.

Accounts to .he amount of £198 17s 7d were passed for payment. The overseer reported that all the gorse and undergrowth had been c_eaxed off the stopbank, but he was waiting for fine weather to burn same.

The stopbank at Al___town had been completed at a cost of £25 3s, the estimate being £30.
