EFFECT OF WAR ON CRIME

LONDON, 26th September. The Prisoners Report for 1915 shows that the number of prisoners sentenced totalled 64,000, compared with 114,000 in 1914.

The decrease is ascribed to the enlistment of the habitual petty offenders and the liquor restrictions.
