LAWN TENNIS

WELLINGTON CLUB MEETS.

Dr. Young presided over a fair attendance of members at the annual meeting of tho Wellington Lawn Tennis Club, held last evening. The annual report was read and adopted. It slated that in. spite of existing conditions the year .had been a successful one in every way. There was a very satisfactory balance of £84 2s 6d on the year's working. The greater part of this sum will be required for contracts for top-dressing, levelling, and repairs. When this work was completed the courts would be in an excellent condition. . . * '

Regret was expressed at the' death in France of Mr. F. Marshall and at the death of Mr. G. Hyams.

The election of officers for the coming year resulted as follows: President, Dr. Young; vice-presidents, Messrs. W. Fraser, A. J. Fernie, A. Hoby, George Shand, and E. K. Kirkcaldie; committee, Misses Gannaway arid Allman, Messrs. W. Irons, R. Kennedy, and H. Van ' Staveren; hon. treasurer, Mr. W. M. Egglestone,- hon. secretary, . Miss Rogers (to act until January), Mr. E. R. Norman (for tho rest of the season).

A vote of thanks was accorded to the auditor, Mr. A. R. Coad, F.1.A.N.Z., for his honorary services.
