Tho Government Meteorologist reports that the abnormally high barometer prevailing last week has shown a decrease, but it is still above normal. .A change in conditions, however, is probable, and has already been shown by increasing cloudiness and humidity with milder conditions over tho North Island. Easterly and northerly winds are likely, and an increase in the cloudy and unsettled weather with rain following may be looked for in districts northward of Hokitika and Kaikoura.. Increasing cloudiness and haziness are probable with a. general chango and a falling barometer everywhere. Tho conditions in ths North Island are more threatening than those in tho South.
